The Newgate "Stinger" is a fully-automatic barrier system providing rapid access and excellent security to vehicle parks with flow rates of up to 200 per hour.
"Stingers" gearbox drive gives a fast 4.5 second cycle time which is appreciated by the user, operators will appreciate Stingers Plug-in Logic that makes maintenance or modification a matter of seconds. And you will like the care we have taken to make "Stinger" simple and economical to install - it is delivered pre-assembled, complete with a fixing hole template to ensure that the holes are drilled squarely into the foundation. Typical installation time is under 2 hours, making Stinger a very attractive package.
Distributor convenience is designed into the Stinger - control options include Card Readers, Push Buttons, Radio Control, Induction Loops and Infra-red Photocells. All these are available as plug-in modules to make installation and long-term maintenance simple and inexpensive. To maximise "Stingers" flexibility, there are three boom lengths - 3000mm, 4000mm and 5000mm, with PVC skirts for lengths up to 4000mm.
The sturdy electric gear drive has no hydraulics to leak or oil reserves that need topping up - a special spring system helps raise the barrier arm to keep motor loading to a minimum. Power interruptions can be dealt with by "Stingers" built-in handwind facility, protected beneath a tamperproof cover and with a supplied handle. The barrier cabinets are powder coated yellow and internal components are zinc plated or powder coated.

And if the pole is broken off, it is unlikely to affect the internal mechanism - a new pole or adaptor can be rapidly refitted and the barrier restored to normal operation with minimum delay. Due to the "Stinger" design, most components can be replaced within minutes, ensuring the barrier is left out of commission for as little time as possible.
